About SOAVM Tech

SOAVM Tech is a standalone technology and ICT solutions company. It runs, rebuilds and secures the systems that other institutions cannot afford to have fail — databases, cloud platforms, delivery pipelines, and the applications on top of them.

Mission

A benchmark that can be tested, not a promise that has to be trusted.

Not a slogan — the operating logic behind every gate, every hub, and every figure published on this site.

SOAVM Tech exists to replace assertion with evidence in an industry built on the opposite. Every engagement runs through the same four-phase gate, and every phase exits on retained, machine-generated evidence — never a status update. "Trust us" isn't a commercial model; a signed Statement of Work and a costed target state are.

Three staffed hubs — Lagos, the EU, the US — run a follow-the-sun rota, so a Tier 1 incident at 3am in one region is daytime engineering in another. The standard travels with the handover; it doesn't reset at one. A gate passed on assertion hasn't been passed, wherever in the world it's signed off.

Figures we can stand behind, not ones that sound impressive

Values

What we actually believe.

These aren't values-page platitudes. Each one is a specific trade-off made on purpose — and what we gave up to make it.

  1. Craft over speed-of-output

Velocity that produces fragile systems is not velocity — it's debt with extra steps. We optimise for shipped, durable, owned-by-someone code.

  2. The operator is the customer

The person on call at 2am with our pager is our customer. Their experience is the most honest review of our work.

  3. Documentation is engineering

An ADR, a runbook, a handover doc — these are first-class deliverables, not afterthoughts future-you is paying for.

  4. Diversity is operational, not decorative

Our engineering, security, and AI teams are intentionally diverse. Different problem-decomposition styles surface different bugs. That's the value.

  5. Africa is a hub, not a back office

Our engineers ship to two continents from Lagos. We hire, train, and pay accordingly. Talent is global; opportunity should be too.

Operating principles

The discipline behind the delivery standard

Six rules that hold regardless of practice, client, or hub — the ones that keep a gated methodology from turning into theatre.

  1. Engineering excellence is non-negotiable

We write code the way a structural engineer pours concrete. Reviewed. Tested. Observed in production. Boring on purpose.

  2. A gate passed on assertion has not been passed

No phase exits on a status update. Every gate carries retained, machine-generated evidence, or a named waiver signed by someone accountable for it.

  3. Coverage is staffed, not aspirational

A rota with a gap at 3am isn't coverage — it's a claim. Published hours match staffed hours, and we say so when they don't yet.

  4. Remediation is proven by retest, not by ticket status

Closing a finding and fixing it aren't the same action. We don't confuse the two, and we don't let a client's auditor confuse them either.

  5. Independence is structural, not promised

Where a boundary exists — between internal and client security capacity, between consulting and the engineering it might recommend — it's enforced by separate tooling and separate sign-off, not by good intentions.

  6. Every published figure carries its source

A number without a measurement window is an opinion wearing a costume. We'd rather show less than show more that isn't real.

Team

How we build the team.

None of this is copied from a careers-page template — it's the operating reality of running follow-the-sun delivery across three hubs, written down so a candidate can hold us to it.

  • Hiring Bar

Senior-weighted by design. Every practice line is built around senior specialists and named engagement leads, not a pipeline of junior hires learning on client time.

  • Interview Shape

Structured around the actual work, a scoped technical problem from the practice you'd join, reviewed by the engineers you'd work alongside.

  • Compensation

Banded by role and hub, reviewed against each market's senior engineering rate rather than flattened to a single global figure.

  • How we Work

Deployed as a named, accountable squad against one engagement at a time — not spread thin across a bench.

  • Growth

Tracked against gate ownership — who can sign off a Design gate, who can declare a failover — not tenure alone.

  • Diversity

Intentional across engineering, security, and AI teams, because different problem-decomposition styles catch different classes of bug — not a headcount target.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Real questions people ask before signing a Statement of Work — not the ones a FAQ template assumes they'll ask.

No. SOAVM Tech is a standalone company with no parent, holding, or guarantor entity — every commitment in a contract is ours to keep, not passed up to somewhere else.

Nigeria, the wider African market, Europe and the Americas — delivered from three hubs in Lagos, the EU and the US on a follow-the-sun rota. Where a hub is still being staffed, published coverage reflects the hours actually staffed.

No. Assess, Transform and Operate can each be engaged on their own. Most clients start with a fixed-scope Assess and decide what comes next from the evidence it produces.

You keep everything the phase produced — the findings, the evidence behind them, and the costed target state. There is no lock-in and no obligation to continue with us.

Through a signed Statement of Work, a named engagement lead, and a four-phase gate. Each phase exits only on retained, machine-generated evidence or a named waiver signed by someone accountable for it.
